Could someone post a copy of the new rules? I heard rumors of 3 minute penalties and some other changes, but I never saw anything in writing. Thanks.

These were the notes I took while at the captains meeting (though several have already been broken/not followed only 2 weeks into the season): Quote: Rules: - Rules will be based on the USA Hockey rulebook - Touch-up offsides - 3 game suspension for fighting, tossed on second offence - 3 minute penalties - Hat trick rule: a player can only score 3 goals in a game, a 4th goal will be disallowed and that player will get a penalty - No shootouts or overtime, a tie is a tie. Each team gets 1 point in the standings - The final 2 minutes of each game will be stop-clock Subs: - Only goalies can sub - No player subs If a team has a sub, the team will be fined $100, second offence is $500, third offence and the whole team gets kicked from the league Saturday Drop-In Hockey: D league will have a designated "drop-in" hockey time slot on Saturdays. This will be free of charge and limited only to current D league players. There will be a sign-up sheet at the door and will be required to show your ID to play (Tim doesn't know a majority of us by name). The session will be limited to 30 players. Stats: The website will be run by Tim's guy in Colorado this season. There was also talk of having a "Player of the Week" or various awards given out during the season. Reffing: Tim said he will try to have 2 refs at as many games as he can. There will always be a ref and a scorekeeper at the games. For those interested in reffing, contact Tim. A reffing clinic will be held to make sure the refs are familiar with the rules. He has purchased reffing gear that refs are free to use. This includes jerseys, pads, helmets, whistles, etc. Refs will be paid $12.50 per game and will be paid each night after they get done reffing.

Maybe we need to ask for additional clarification on the stop clock issue since the rink manager refused to stop the clock during the first game of the season saying that it is only in the case of a tie. Don't we need stopped clocks if a team is down by one so they can catch up? I am relatively new to hockey so I may be totally wrong and thought I would ask. If I am wrong, I beg forgiveness.

The league needs more consistancy. Last week, the clock wasn't stopped. In the Alien vs. Cup game last night though, the clock was stopped despite Alien being up by 3 goals. I think the last 2 minutes should be stop clock regardless. If it is stop clock, it would be completely possible for teams to make up 2 or more goals in that timespan. It also prevents the winning team from icing the puck to waste time.
